Dental for All Roadshow 2025

Dental for All: A Vision for Free, Universal Oral Health in Aotearoa

Oral health is central to our wellbeing — yet in Aotearoa, it is treated differently from other areas of health. Too many adults are unable to access the care they need simply because of cost. Dental for All is working to change that, with a vision of free dental care for everyone in Aotearoa, bringing oral health fully into the public health system.

Why it matters

  • 40% of adults can’t afford dental treatment.

  • Poor oral health doesn’t just affect teeth — it impacts dignity, confidence, social connection, and is linked to wider health conditions.

  • Any future system must respect Te Tiriti o Waitangi, supporting Māori authority in oral health solutions.

What they’re doing

  • Running roadshows around the country, providing free dental days.

  • Mobilising community support through petitions and policy advocacy, including the campaign to “Make dental care free for all.”

  • Working alongside Māori health models to co-design care that is by Māori, for Māori, aligned with tino rangatiratanga.

Dental for All is more than a campaign — it’s a movement to ensure that oral health becomes a right, not a privilege.
